Wind turbine is a machine that consists of a column perpendicular to the ground and a turbine at its top and converts the wind (kinetic energy of the wind) into electricity.
Small wind turbines are used for a variety of applications, such as battery charging, while larger for power supply to homes. A number of such wind turbines form wind farms, which are a renewable energy source. Many countries have built wind farms to reduce the emission of pollutants and their degradation from fossil fuels.
Wind power is today an attractive solution to the problem of power generation.

Actions for the development of wind energy have taken place across the country, and the European Union's renewable energy policy, which encourages and subsidizes investment in mild energy, contributes to this. But also on a national scale, various development laws, combined with the Renewable Energy Act 3468/06, provide very strong incentives even for small-scale investments. In the RES 3851/2010 Law, special mention is made of the category of small wind turbines. According to the Law on wind turbines up to 50kW there is a special subsidized selling price of the generated electricity and a simplified and streamlined licensing process. Small wind turbines are simplified small-scale systems. A 50kW wind turbine can produce up to 250 MWh per year, an amount of energy capable of covering the energy consumed by more than 60 households. At the same time, it helps to save 275 tonnes of CO2 emitted from conventional forms of energy production.
